Lou Pacelli, President
Lou Pacelli, president and founder of LGP Business Services, LLC has over 20 years of experience in accounting and finance. He began his financial services career in private accounting for ADP and Medco Health Solutions, and worked more recently in commercial finance with banking giants JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo. Throughout his career, Lou has worked with clients in a wide range of industries: wholesale and distribution, manufacturing, real estate, retail and financial services.
Today, Lou applies his expertise in service of both lending institutions and businesses. Together with the professionals of LGP Business Services, Lou provides field examinations and asset verification of customers for commercial banks. He also provides critical support in the areas of interim management and temporary CFO services for small to upper middle market companies; turnaround management services; complete business operations and financial reviews; and full assessment and negotiation of financial restructuring needs between businesses and banks. Lou’s in-depth experience in the management and financial realms give him the focus and skills companies need to identify operational problems quickly… then lay out the operational steps needed to put a business back on track towards stability, improve cash flow and return profit to the bottom line.
Working for the betterment of the wider community, Lou serves on the board of trustees of the Passaic County Elks Cerebral Palsy Treatment Center (chairman, 2009–2010). In this volunteer role, he and the board handle all financial aspects of the facility’s two schools and adult center; and work with the director to set policies and review all facets of the operation. Lou is also an active member of the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey, the Greater Paramus Chamber of Commerce and the North Jersey Regional Chamber of Commerce; the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), an organization whose members work together to help troubled companies turn around before they fail; and the Risk Management Association (RMA).
Lou holds a BA in accounting from William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey, and an MBA in management and finance from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College (City University of New York). He and his wife Andrea live in northern New Jersey with their two daughters.
Ed Pavel, Managing Partner
Ed Pavel has worked in the financial services sector since 1981 when, as vice president of Thomson McKinnon Securities, he developed hedge strategies for mortgage originators; this later led to the development of other hedging programs in the interest rate, foreign exchange and energy market space with an emphasis on market timing. His professional responsibilities have also included institutional sales in financial futures, fixed income and foreign exchange. Ed was a managing director at Bear Stearns; career highlights there included designing and implementing trade strategies and methods for identifying arbitrage opportunities between currency spreads and short-term interest rates, and employee development and training.
Ed was president and founder of St. Croix Capital Management, LLC, a CFTC registered commodity pool operator; during this time he created and implemented technical trend-based trading programs for debt, foreign exchange and equity markets. Prior to joining LGP Business Services, Ed was a private financial consultant to e-commerce and small businesses. His practice comprised business plan development; comprehensive operations and processes evaluations; financial modeling; and creation of inventory management systems, productivity metrics, and efficiency strategies.
At LGP, Ed oversees all new business development and is instrumental in developing technology-driven processing solutions to maintain clients’ accounts. Ed is certified in the Series 3, 7 and 63 financial services registrations, and holds a B.S. degree in chemistry from Seton Hall University.
